My artwork arise from reflections and research on domestic collecting and the ethnographic, museum, ritual, patrimonial, memorial and fictional aspects intrinsic to the practice or act of collecting. I am interested in rescuing/addressing the symbolic values that are established between the collector and his collection, what I conceptually call: "secular relicarization". That is, looking for an object, finding it, assigning it a place within the collection, owning and treasuring it. Treasure it not for its material value, but for what it symbolizes for the one who collects, who furthermore sees unfolding through the object, his remembrances and the vast territory of memory. I value collectionism from the displacements, bifurcations, variations and innumerable particularities that I observe manifests/inhabits this practice. From the variations of the act of collecting I move towards nature (endemic flora and fauna) hyperbolically represented in my works and towards our popular mythical universe, as it constitutes a ludic/lucid space of identity and collective treasuring. I pursue the concepts of "Nature" and "Garden" to name not only those magnificent territories that proliferate in diverse flora and fauna, but also to tell about secularly sacred vital spaces, coated with the perennial investitures of treasuring and memory. Likewise I configure and materialize large bodies of work. In a transversal way in my projects I develop the interdisciplinary language of the MINIATURE DIORAMA. Moreover I inquire into sculptural ceramics, painting and illustration, die-cuts and installation. I understand and adhere to the idea of Art and Culture as a right, as the certain possibility of configuring dialogue, society, history and time. But, above all, as a transforming element of consciences that favors empathy, diversity and critical thinking.
